5083 aluminium alloy is a high-strength, non-heat-treatable alloy known for its excellent resistance to seawater and industrial chemicals. 6061 aluminium alloy is a versatile, precipitation-hardened alloy with good mechanical properties and excellent weldability.

5083 aluminium alloy is an aluminium alloy with magnesium and traces of manganese and chromium. It is highly resistant to attack by seawater and industrial chemicals. Alloy 5083 retains exceptional strength after welding. It has the highest strength of the non-heat treatable alloys with a Ultimate Tensile Strength of 317 MPa or 46000 psi and a Tensile Yield Strength of 228 MPa or 33000 psi. It is not recommended for use in temperatures in excess of 65°C
6061 aluminium alloy is a precipitation-hardened aluminum alloy, containing magnesium and silicon as its major alloying elements. Originally called “Alloy 61S”, It has good mechanical properties, exhibits good weldability, and is very commonly extruded. It is one of the most common alloys of aluminum for general-purpose use. It is commonly available in pre-tempered grades such as 6061-O (annealed), tempered grades such as 6061-T6 (solutionized and artificially aged) and 6061-T651 (solutionized, stress-relieved stretched and artificially aged).
